Dear Friends in Christ,

It is with joy that I announce the launch of our new website and branding for the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon. The new website is designed to reflect our location in the Pacific Northwest as well as our distinct identity as the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement in Western Oregon.

Our new logo is a modern translation of the original diocesan seal adopted at the 20th Annual Meeting of the Convention in 1908. This translation brings a fresh perspective to the design while highlighting the important symbols: the roses, crosses, episcopal ornaments, and the shield. We have an English and Spanish version of our logo, monochromatic options for the logo, and a full-color version for diocesan-specific publications.

Over the last year, we have been working on this new website taking into consideration the user’s experience, prioritizing important information and the overall aesthetic. An easy-to-use menu allows visitors to access the information they seek without navigating through sub-pages. The content on the pages is informative and concise, and links, buttons, and contact information are all clearly defined.

With this new website comes new email addresses for the diocesan staff. We have moved away from first name and last initial to first initial and last name. For example, Alli Gannett’s email went from allisong@diocese-oregon to agannett@ecwo.org, the Rev. Chris Craun’s email went from chrisc@diocese-oregon to ccraun@ecwo.org, etc. However, for a transition period, if you use the old email address, our staff will still receive that email, although we recommend that you save our new email addresses. You can always reach a staff member by visiting our Staff Page.

Please join me in thanking Alli Gannett for this redesign. Her attention to detail, aesthetic sensibility, and commitment to the end product has delivered a beautiful and easy-to-navigate website and a refreshed diocesan seal that unifies the past with the present. Thank you also to those with whom she consulted regarding design, word use, end-user experience, and overall engagement with the redesign.

We hope you will not only find what you need on the new website but that you will enjoy the experience!

Blessings,

+Diana
