Dear Friends in Christ,
The recent news reports of the devastating attacks taking place in Israel and Palestine are horrifying, and the accounts of the kidnapping and murder of innocent people are devastating. The historic conflict in this region continues to weigh heavily on our global community as lasting peace seems elusive.
I ask your prayers in this time of violence and callous disregard for the lives of the innocent.
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so
move every human heart and especially the hearts of the
people of Palestine and Israel, that barriers which divide us may
crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our
divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
