Diocesan Budget

The annual budget of the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon is presented to delegates at the Annual Meeting for approval by vote.

The preliminary budget and narrative documents for the 2023 budget were circulated to the Diocesan Council and approved in June 2022. They were then sent to the Convocations for review.  Feedback from the Convocations was received by the Management Committee of the Diocesan Council and the bishop’s staff in August, after which the budget and narrative were revised and resubmitted to Diocesan Council for review and approval.  The result is the Proposed Budget and Narrative for 2023, which was presented for review and approved by the delegates at the Annual Meeting of the Diocesan Convention on October 29, 2022.

2024 Diocesan Budget
Development of the 2024 Budget
Diocesan Council is trying out a new budget development timeline in 2023.  The goal is to shorten the budget process so that applications are due July 5 (instead of in April), and convocations will be able to study and give feedback on the budget in August and September.  The Diocesan Council-approved budget will be posted on this website by October 6 — three weeks before the Annual Meeting of the Diocesan Convention.  This is a one-time experiment and has been approved by the Bishop and the Diocesan Chancellor.

Programs applying for funds in 2024

  • For programs seeking to renew funds in the 2024 budget, please complete this worksheet after your conversation with a Diocesan Council member and email it back to that member
  • For new programs seeking funds, please complete this online form.
