We are delighted to share that The Rev. Sarah Kitch has accepted the call to serve as rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Seaside, OR. She will begin her ministry on July 1.

Rev. Kitch comes to Calvary from St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School in Thousand Oaks, CA, where she has served as chaplain. Her journey to the priesthood was a second career, following 33 years as an itinerant minister in a theater company that took her around the world. For the past 17 years, she has faithfully balanced ministry in both school and parish settings in California.

Originally from the East Coast, Rev. Kitch has longed to return to coastal living and feels grateful to join the Calvary community. She is eager to support the parish’s worship, outreach, and community ministry and looks forward to getting to know her colleagues in the diocese. Rev. Kitch says, “I’m so deeply humbled by the grace to serve Calvary Episcopal Church in Seaside and the community that I feel already enveloped and welcomed.”

The Rev. Canon Chris Craun says, “After nearly two years since their previous Rector retired, Calvary Episcopal Church in Seaside has called the Rev. Sarah Kitch to be their next Rector. A huge thank you to the Rev. Esme Culver who provided continuous supply and support along the way with many others who stepped in to help. And a huge thank you to the community of Calvary who have worked hard to prepare a place for their next Rector and to keep their spirits hopeful. We are excited to welcome Rev. Kitch+ in July!”

Please join us in praying for and welcoming Rev. Kitch as she embarks on this new chapter of ministry!
