Catechesis 2025

Held at Trinity Cathedral, Catechesis is a five-month immersion in scripture, history, worship, and Christian practices that offers a chance to learn more about this community of faith—and make friendships that will last a lifetime.

What is Catechesis?
Catechesis is for adults who are seeking one of these Rites* – Baptism, Confirmation, or Reception into the Episcopal Church, or Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows – but many people take the class without seeking any rites at the end. You don’t need to decide right away!
(*Don’t know what these words mean? That’s okay! We will explain them.)
Catechesis is for people:
- New to Christianity,
- New to the Episcopal Church,
- Interested in meeting other people on a similar faith journey,
- Life-long Episcopalians who want to deepen their understanding of how we worship,
- Members of other parishes throughout the Diocese that do not have an adult confirmation class right now.
When is Catechesis?
Every Wednesday from 7–8:30 pm, January 8–May 28.
Catechesis is hybrid, offered both in person at Trinity in the Morrison Room and online on Zoom. Classes are recorded; if you miss a class, you can still get the content!
If you’re seeking a rite, Baptisms will take place at Trinity Cathedral at the Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 19, and Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation will be on Trinity Sunday, June 15.
If you are from a parish other than Trinity and are seeking one of the rites listed above, please contact the facilitators, and they will help coordinate the details.
