About the event: Join us every fourth Saturday for an all-levels meditation gathering led by the Rev’d Chris Bell. Begin, invigorate, or deepen your meditation practice in community at this monthly gathering, with an hour of silent meditation—two sessions of sitting and a short walking meditation—followed by discussion and an optional half-hour of tea or coffee. Arrive early, as doors close at 9:30 am.
Newcomers are always welcome. If you would like basic instructions, please arrive 20 minutes early. Whether your silent meditation practice is centering prayer, transcendental meditation, Buddhist practice, or something else, you will find support; these gatherings do not emphasize any particular form or philosophy. In person only. Free; donations gratefully accepted.
About the leader: The Rev’d Chris Bell is a longtime practitioner of Zen and was recently named Zen Teacher in the Harada-Yasutani lineage. After graduating from Harvard Divinity School, Chris served a Unitarian-Universalist congregation in Santa Rosa, California for 15 years, and currently serves as the chaplain for VistaRiver Hospice in the Portland area.
