About the facilitator: The Rev’d Greg Rainey blends the sacred calling of a deacon with the healing skills of a licensed clinical social worker to support individuals and groups. At St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukie and in his private counseling practice, he provides integrated spiritual and emotional care for those facing illness, grief, and major life transitions.
Drawing on experience as an oncology social worker at OHSU and a hospice volunteer at Hopewell House, Greg has developed a deep understanding of the complex needs that arise in times of loss and change. In addition, his 25 years of military service in the Coast Guard and Marine Corps give him particular insight into the experiences of veterans. He specializes in supporting elders, veterans, and individuals affected by cancer, offering professional counseling and pastoral care that meet people where they are with compassion and respect.
