“The Welcoming Prayer is a powerful path for connecting the inner consent of Centering Prayer with the outer requirement of unconditional presence in daily life.” —Cynthia Bourgeault
Welcoming Prayer is a practice of consenting to God’s presence in our physical & emotional reactions to the events & situations of daily life. Join us as Contemplative Outreach of Portland introduces us to this practice with instruction and two sessions of meditation. In person only; Led by Contemplative Outreach of Portland.

About the presenters: Contemplative Outreach of Portland is part of an international, interdenominational spiritual network committed to living the contemplative dimension of the Gospel. Our common desire for Divine transformation is primarily expressed through a commitment to a daily Centering Prayer practice. Vicki Hess-Smith facilitates Centering Prayer groups for COOP at Trinity and the Franciscan Spiritual Center. She brings her background in depth psychology to this welcoming prayer practice.
Mini-Retreats take place every 3rd Saturday, 9:00 am-noon. Join us for meditation, contemplative prayer as we sit together in community, with time for reflection, learning, and support, with guest teachers to help us explore the contemplative path. Mini-Retreats are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
