WORLD PREMIERE OF THE VOICE OF ONE – OCTOBER 7, 8, and 9
In this creative new musical, written by The Rev. Canon Robert Bryant (Rector of the Parish of St. John the Baptist) and composed by Mr. Scot Crandal (St. John’s Director of Music), the Parish collaborates with Oregon Episcopal School to make the biblical character of St. John the Baptist leap out of our stained-glass windows and into our city streets! The show tells the story of St. John, but is really about everyone finding their own unique voice to make a difference in the world. The cast is made up of amazing voices from the Portland music world, including Portland Opera’s Zach Lenox as John the Baptist, and star of stage and screen Susannah Mars, as his mother Elizabeth, augmented by singers and dancers from OES, The Portland Gay Men’s Chorus, and local churches.
