Every day brings news of another shooting somewhere across the country. Sadly, nowhere is immune from the scourge of injury, maiming, and death. Schools, shops, government facilities, and churches all have been targets of indiscriminate violence and senseless loss.
While, in this current environment, it’s impossible to prevent these atrocities, we can work to provide safe and secure environments where such events are less likely to occur. And, knowing that there might be events like these in our facilities or our communities, we can be prepared to minister to those affected and comfort the bereaved.
Join us for a conversation with representatives from three parishes across the country who have planned and prepared for such an event. These lay and clergy leaders will share how they are engaging in safety planning and reimagining security in their churches and on their campuses. Among those joining will be leaders who have faced this situation. They will share how their community coped with and is recovering from the now imaginable that took place in their community.
Leave this session with practical ideas on how to be prepared while being open to all.
