St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Springfield, Oregon, has hosted Conestoga Huts and car camping for years. They partnered with St. Vincent de Paul and Community Supported Shelters to host three huts on their property.
In this video, the Rev. Nancy Gallagher, rector of St. John the Divine, provides a history of the ministry and speaks to the impact hosting residents have had on the community. A six-year resident, David, shares what having a place to call his own means to him.
The video is the first of a series highlighting communities around our diocese presented by the Housing Crisis Working Group.
