Dear Friends in Christ,
This morning we received the news that Presiding Bishop Michael Curry was admitted into the hospital for a reoccurrence of the internal bleeding he suffered over Memorial Day Weekend.
According to a statement from The Episcopal Church, an attached mass on his right adrenal gland appears to be the source of the internal bleeding. Bishop Curry and his doctors are weighing the potential benefits and risks of surgery.
I ask our diocese to join me in prayer for our brother and for his family, medical team, and all involved. Bishop Curry is expected to be released tomorrow.
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant Michael and give your power of healing to those who minister to his needs, that he may be strengthened in his weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
