Upcoming Clergy Conference

Dear Clergy, 
 
I invite you to join me on April 29 – May 1 at the Oregon Garden Resort for our Spring Clergy Conference. Based on the feedback from last year’s clergy conference, we are not bringing in a guest speaker. Instead, we will generate inspiration and insight from within using the theme “Spreading the Good News”.
I look forward to sharing with clergy some of my own reflections and points of curiosity on this theme, and together we will discover fresh perspectives on this traditional call of our faith. My hope is that we will all depart feeling energized and hopeful about our call to share the Good News of God in Christ in this corner of God’s creation.
Below you will find a schedule of our time together and information regarding lodging and registration. Clergy will need to register for the event and lodging separately. I look forward to our time together at the end of April.

HOW TO REGISTER TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE
PLEASE NOTE: This registration is ONLY for attending the conference, not booking a room. For room booking please see the section under “BOOKING A ROOM”.
Registration costs:
  • $160.00 for clergy
  • $75.00 for clergy spouses/partners who would like to attend (to assist with food & beverage costs)
Please note that Eventbrite does add a processing fee but the Diocese is absorbing this cost.
HOW TO BOOK A ROOM
PLEASE NOTE: This registration is ONLY for booking a room. It is not for attending the conference. To register for the conference please see the section titled “REGISTER TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE”.
A room block has been reserved at the Oregon Garden Resort for clergy. Clergy must reserve their rooms BY MARCH 28 to get the discounted rate of $149 for one of their standard rooms. You can request a room after this day, but the resort cannot guarantee room availability after March 28.

Directions for reserving online:
  • Go to: www.oregongardenresort.com
  • On the welcome page, click the “Check in” button and select April 29, then click the “Check out” button and select May 1, then press the “BOOK NOW” button.
  • You will be redirected to a new page and will see room types that are available at the full rate of $189.00 per night. To use this page you must choose your cookie settings by following the instructions on the page. You can proceed once those settings are chosen.
  • Above the third picture on the right, there is an “ADD CODE” option. Click on this, and a box will drop down.
  • Choose “GROUP ATTENDEE” and then enter your group code – CLERGY24 to get the discounted rate of $149.
  • A new screen will appear with an invitation to join us for the Clergy Conference and other information. Please read and review the information. If it is correct click the button “SELECT & GO TO THE NEXT STEP”. If it is not, please contact the resort at 1.800.966.6490.
  • You will be redirected to a calendar page. Select your dates (April 29-May 1) for check-in & check-out, then press the black button that says “UPDATE DATES OF STAY.”
  • The page will move up and the group’s rate of $149 will appear. Choose which room type you would like and then press the blue “BOOK” button to complete.
  • Then press the blue “ADD ROOM + CHECKOUT” button to complete.
  • The final page will ask for all of your information to finalize.

Please note: clergy spouses are welcome to enjoy the Oregon Garden Resort and join the group for meals. There will be a separate discounted registration fee for clergy spouses/partners to assist with the food & beverage costs. We ask that sessions be reserved for clergy only.

ACCESS TO THE GARDEN

You will now have to purchase a ticket to the Oregon Garden; your admission is no longer complementary with a room at the resort. This is a new policy with Oregon Garden. You can purchase a ticket at the garden.  

Ticket Cost: Adults $12; Seniors (60+) $10; AAA Members receive a $1 discount.
