William Temple (1881-1944) was a priest, bishop, and Archbishop of Canterbury; a social reformer; and the namesake of William Temple House here in Portland. The feast of William Temple will be celebrated on Sunday, November 18, at 5 p.m. with a special choral evensong at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
